"Every Student. Every Day. Whatever It Takes."

Dear Oakview Families,

Let me begin by expressing how excited I am to begin a new school year.  Although I am not a stranger to many of you, I would like to formally introduce myself and provide you with some background information about my experiences. I have been a part of the West Deptford school community since 2004, serving as an assistant and eventually head varsity soccer coach at the high school for a total of 8 years.  In 2012, I was fortunate enough to be appointed as an Assistant Principal of West Deptford High School. Prior to my time in West Deptford, I worked as the Supervisor of Special Education/Assistant Principal at Bankbridge Regional School in the Gloucester County Special Services School District. I began my educational career at Bankbridge as a Reading Specialist and then a Language Arts Literacy teacher for students with multiple disabilities.  I am currently entering my sixth year here at Oakview and could not be more proud to be a part of a such a special place!

From the moment I arrived at Oakview, I could immediately see what a wonderful learning community it is for students, full of positive energy.  Our dedicated staff is committed to providing each child with a high quality instructional program in a positive, nurturing environment that fosters growth and collaboration. The Oakview team's daily priority is to create a safe, productive and enjoyable learning atmosphere for all children.  We want to prepare them with the necessary skills and abilities that will help develop them into well-rounded, motivated, 21st century citizens.

As part of the West Deptford School System, Oakview shall offer an educational program that is designed to perpetuate and improve our democratic way of life. While promoting academic excellence, we shall develop in our students the appropriate knowledge, skills, attitudes, appreciations, understanding and character traits necessary for successful living in our complex society.

In order to fully accomplish the aforementioned, it is necessary to establish a working relationship between home and school. Cooperation, communication and understanding between the home and school are essential for creating and maintaining the best possible atmosphere for learning. To this end, we will always welcome parents to our school and encourage them to offer suggestions, ask questions or share concerns about their child or our school policies/procedures.  I am a strong advocate of developing relationships with students and their families so please say hello and introduce yourself when you visit.

I encourage you to check our website regularly for updates of important information, upcoming activities and events, along with our Facebook and Twitter pages.  In addition, you will find our monthly newsletter, PTO calendar, staff listing, lunch menu and other helpful resources.  I am thrilled to be working with your children and look forward to a fantastic and fun-filled year!  Please contact me anytime if you have questions or concerns.
